The S2

The S2, a 30' fiberglass boat, was produced in 1979. This blue-water boat with center cockpit was highly recommended as a learning sailing vessel.

She performed wonderfully during the hurricane. The owner of our local boat shop said she was made for such conditions, which encouraged our hearts as the hurricane approached!

We began working on renovating her after the Mason 41 project. So far we've accomplished the following:

• Bottom cleaned
• Fixed all leaks
• Rebedded all stanchions
• Installed new lifelines, netting and hardware
• Created and installed new icing (canvas top) with pattern based on old top
• Installed new teak cockpit table
• Installed new v-berth foam and canvas
• Installed new aft cabin foam and canvas
• Installed insulation
• Installed new hull liner (halfway complete)
• Repainted interior
• Installed new sink components
• Installed new mixing elbow on motor
• Created Sacrificial Cover for head sail
• Created and installed Sail Pack
• Relocated halyard winch and lock

• Finish hull liner
• Water maker installation
• Solar installation
• Electronics installation
• Replace bolts holding rudder cable pulleys
• Get in-counter refrigerator working
• Dinghy davit installation
• Apply new vinyl
• Clean bottom again
